Kimberley CoastLOCATION

The town of Wyndham is situated at the North end of the Great Northern Highway on the Cambridge Gulf which is in the Joseph Bonaparte Gulf 110 km inland from the blue sea.

The Kimberley Coast is one of the Last Frontiers to be explored and opened up to the civilization. It's isolation, remote & rugged beauty will blow you away. Every corner has it's own surprise and diversity of unique wilderness.

In the far north of the Kimberley W.A. a sultry little town became the home Port of Look Sea Tours. Nestled off the muddy tidal flats of the lower Cambridge Gulf (120 km inland) & at the base of the Bastion ranges is the town Wyndham being the last/first Port to WA.

If the Boab Trees could talk, many a story would be told of the hardship and triumphs that the pioneers, stockman, drovers, miners and station folk suffered dealing with the isolation of the outback, in trying to tame this harsh unforgiving country in bringing it to some state of civilization.

The Cambridge Gulf has two large tidal flows each day between 7-9 meters, there is eight rivers that run into the gulf with most of the siltation being stirred up from the huge tides thus leaving the water muddy. With the maze of rivers and creeks within the gulf it is a fishes haven so don't be mislead as to think that there are no fish, as there are plenty of fish and big mud crabs.
